Gabblers…

The beautifully talented Krista Vernoff, former executive producer/writer for Grey’s Anatomy, has taken to Twitter to share her thoughts concerning Sandra Oh. Read it below!

I don’t tweet about #GreysAnatomy much, mostly because leaving was so hard. It feels like graduating college and then going back and visiting. The party’s still going on, but you’re not a part of it anymore. It used to be your whole world, and now you’re an outsider. I spent 7 years at Grey’s. That’s longer than I’ve ever stayed at any job, or any school, or even lived in any house. So it was hard to leave. Hard? It was brutal. It was time to leave and it felt right to leave and still…I don’t tweet about Greys much. But today is Ms. Sandra Oh’s last shooting day. And tonight is the beginning of Cristina’s last four episodes. So I’m tweeting. I’m tweeting to say, for the record, loudly and publicly, that the privilege of writing for Sandra was one of the highest highlights and deepest privileges of my career. Her talent is bottomless. Her passion as an artist, inspiring. Her depth of soul, her thoughtfulness, her kindness, and compassion, her endless creativity and commitment to the art of it all — not the business — the art — makes her a person I would write for any time, anywhere, any way possible. I’m a fan. Of Sandra. And of Cristina Yang, whom I was so privileged to get to help create. Cristina was initially Shonda’s brainchild but the writers’ room is like a village and so Cristina became all of ours to mold and raise and I’m so proud of the work we did. I think Cristina is an extraordinary character on the page. And in Sandra’s hands? She’s iconic. So I’m tweeting to say thank you to @shondarhimes for letting me write so much of Cristina and to @iamsandraoh for breathing such life and depth into her and to you, the fans, for watching and caring as deeply as you do and always have. Thank you. I love Grey’s Anatomy.

I’ve always like Krista. She added something particularly awesome to Grey’s. And though she’s been gone from GA for a little while now, it’s nice to hear her voice her heart about a woman she herself had the personal privilege of knowing and the character she so graciously helped create.
